Who knows Eagle Scouts in New York City?

Is there anyone out there that knows Eagle Scouts in New York City?

I am looking to train a group of quick minded, intelligent, calm and disciplined individuals high school age and older to compete in the 2012 USA Memory Championship. What better group of people to do this with that Eagle Scouts!? They have the temperament, goal setting mindset, dedication and discipline.

Please understand the significance of what I am offering. I am not charging for this service and I regularly get paid thousands and thousands of dollars to train people on their memory. I am offering to teach these skills at no charge. The Eagle Scouts would get:

1. A life long skill that they could use to memorize school work or catapult their career by remembering names, product knowledge, information from classes, give speeches without notes, learn any new information in a fraction of the time, improve grades, increase confidence by trusting memory more and exercise their brain in true mental Olympics.

2. They would gain the benefit of knowing they competed in one of the most unique sports on the planet and a sport that the 2006 USA Memory Champion Josh Foeur wrote a book about, Moonwalking With Einstein http://www.amazon.com/Moonwalking-Einstein-Science-Remembering-Everything/dp/159420229X

3. They would get to learn directly from the 2009 and 2010 USA Memory Champion. That is me and I don’t want to sound boastful here, but I really know this stuff. I have been teaching it for 20 years and I know I could deliver life long skills

4. They would learn memory techniques they could mentor with other students to make a positive impact on their life

Eagle Scouts interested in this need to contact me asap as four months is the minimum training and preparation time with 6 months being optimum. The tournament is March 24th so no time to waste.

Here is a short video of me on the History Channel Show Superhumans

Check out this video (the video is not me). I will teach you how to do this….how cool is that!!!?????

Texas Rangers Video Board BABY!!

Okay, I am not just a passive Texas Rangers fan. I have been a die hard fan since I was 8 years old watching Buddy Bell play third base. I would get a framed picture I had of Buddy and prop it up against my bed and with a marker in my hand (acting as if it was a microphone) I would pretend to interview Buddy after games.

My love for the Rangers has been very steady for 30 years. I once set my alarm for 2am when I was in Europe to listen to a Texas Rangers game online. No this wasn’t a playoff game or even an important game. It was a game in mid May in just another non playoff year. When the Rangers made the playoffs in 2010 I called 3 speaking engagement I had in AUSTRALIA and told them something came up and I couldn’t make it. Then I went on the road to games in Tampa, New York and San Francisco in the most exhilarating baseball experience of my life.

This year I am a season ticket holder so when they called and told me they were wanting to spot light a season ticket holder I was ecstatic. I was in Atlanta but changed my flight and took an early flight home to make the game. I couldn’t believe how nervous I was getting before the camera came over. I have spoken on huge stages and memorized numbers with intense pressure on national tv but I was soooo nervous and I knew all I had to do was smile!!

What an honor to be on this screen!!! The TEXAS RANGER’S STAFF ROCKS for doing this!!!! Here is the short 30 seconds of my time on the video board.

Next time you see me on the video board, I will be being introduced to bat for the Rangers. This may be one of my last blogs for Ron White Training. I do believe the Rangers scouts saw my obvious athletic frame when I was on the screen and I expect any minute now a contract to be offered. Until then I probably have a few more days as the memory guy….

Herbal Medicine and Your Brain

Well, as the memory guy I had a stressful month. Literally….

I was at a speech and my mind went blank when I was recalling a 50 digit number! The first time that has EVER happened in front of a group. Embarrassing but more importantly stressful…this is my career. The stress was compounded when I was tackling a MASSIVE memory project 6,000 pieces of info in exact order and 80% of the way into it (6 weeks into it) my brain COMPLETELY locked up! I couldn’t get any further. So my mind was really stressing last month. Unfortunately the stress/worry just makes things worse for the future. Stress is the number one enemy to your memory.

So I had to calm my mind down and ask myself, ‘Why? Why am I getting these results?’ Stress was definitely a part of it but also my nutrition and lack of exercise was impacting me. So I contacted Florian Boschi at http://www.flowholistic.com/. He was recommended by my good friend and personal coach TC Cummings. If you have followed me for any length of time you know TC was instrumental in my two USA Memory Championship win. He is a former US Navy SEAL and we appeared on Fox News show Fox and Friends Show after I won the tournament for the second year in a row.

Florian’s bio reads:

He is constantly working on improving his Chinese medical education by introducing cutting edge medical research and technologies into his practice. Among other things, Florian combines ancient Chinese herbal  medicine with modern supplementation. He works in conjunction with labs and a wide range of western practitioners in conjunction with eastern traditional diagnostic and treatment methods, always attempting to better his results through finding more effective approaches.

I am having some blood tests done over the next few weeks and then will be engaging in a nutrition regiment coupled with his advice to get my head back to where it needs to be! This is very exciting for me and I promise to keep you posted!

I Just Thought of My Mission Statement – In SHOWER!

Nolan Bushnell the founder of Atari and Chuck E Cheese once said, ‘“Everyone who has ever taken a shower has had an idea. It’s the
person who gets out of the shower, dries off, and does something about it that makes a difference.”

I have loved that quote for at least 10 years!!

I have sooooo many ideas bouncing around in my head, so many business ideas, so many products, so many clever things I could say or sell, just so many ideas. Sometimes, the best of ideas come when that warm water is running over your face in the shower. Why? I don’t know. Perhaps it is because you are relaxed and when you are all stressed out your brain isn’t working as efficiently as it should. Regardless, the shower tends to be great thinking time.

Now here is possible TMI (Too Much Information) but I JUST GOT OUT OF THE SHOWER. I am sitting on a towel in my home office with my hair still dripping water but as I was in the shower I was developing my company mission statement and BOOM it hit me! Although this website is www.ronwhitetraining.com the umbrella company for all my activities is Brain Athlete. (Makes sense right as I am a brain athlete? Or at least I like to believe I am!)

So what is our mission statement at Brain Athlete? This is what I developed as the water was hitting me in the face and relaxing me….

‘Brain Athlete, developing healthy quick minds to maximize profits, efficiency and confidence.’

BOOM! Now I have a mission statement. Freaking love it! I really feel like this covers all our main topics – memory training, memory speakers, speed reading, thinking like a Navy SEAL, thinking like Einstein, brain aging, etc.

So there you have it! My mission statement is done! Thought in a shower that I put into practice before I got dressed by posting it on this blog. Now for the other 50 ideas I had this week in the shower….time to implement…I will be back to update you…eventually…tons to do

Ron White, Memory Speaker and 2 Time USA Memory Champion

Memory Guy and Navy SEAL on Fox News!!

I have three favorite channels:

1. The History Channel
2. Fox News
3. Any channel with baseball

So when I was a guest on the History Channel’s show Stan Lee’s Superhumans that was just too cool! Then, I was featured on Fox News! Wow! Next is the MLB Channel I suppose! HA!

Seriously though, this is a cool interview I did on Fox News it was with my personal coach and former US Navy SEAL, TC Cummings. It confused people often, why in the world would I hire a Navy SEAL to coach me for a memory tournament? Wouldn’t it be better to be coached by a memory champion? Maybe, but I wasn’t looking for a new memory system (I had been teaching memory seminars for 16 years when I first started competing in tournaments.)

What I was needing was discipline, organization, focus and winning spirit. I figured, who better to teach those things than a former Navy SEAL! And boy was I right! TC got me in the right frame of mind and it was one of the most magical two year stretches of my life. I became a two time USA Memory Champion and held the record for the fastest to memorize a deck of cards in the USA for 2 years.

Fox News wanted to interview me on their show but only if I brought TC with me. OKAY WITH ME! Here is a little insight into the mind of a Navy SEAL via Fox News

Oh by the way, if you would like to get the same Mind of a Navy SEAL training I received here is our Mind of a SEAL workshop.

Good Nutrition and Exercise DO Impact the Memory!

Well it has been a unique month or so for me. Borderline scary…

I have made my living for years training people on the power of their minds and demonstrating that power with memory demonstrations that I routinely perform on stage. However, the last few months I have been drawing blanks on names of people that I have known for a YEAR! Once during a speech I tried to recall a 50 digit number and my mind went 100% blank. It was awful. I began to question if I was losing my memory at the age of 38? If so, what would I do as a career?!!

Actually, even if I was losing my memory ability it wouldn’t impact my career that much. I have made my living for the last 20 years in the memory training field not because of the demos I could perform, tournaments I won or records I broke. I would say this is only 15% of my success. The majority of my success in this business is because I am a good salesman, speaker and marketer and I can help people. That will continue whether I lose my mental quickness or not. With that said, why in the WORLD would I want to have a memory that isn’t firing on all cylinders!?

So I have to ask myself:

- Have I been allowing myself to become stressed lately? Yes, I have and stress is a terrible enemy to your memory

- Have I been exercising to keep my blood flowing well (including to my brain)? No, I haven’t. I haven’t worked out regularly in 8 months

- Have I been eating healthy and good brain foods? No I haven’t…junk, junk, junk and plenty of ballpark hot dogs

- Has my alcohol consumption been more than just a few glasses on nights before a big speech? Yes it has and this clouds the memory in a terrible way

- Have I relied on sleep aids such as Tylenol PM to go to sleep the last few months? Yes, I have and this clouds the head the next day

So there you have it. I am not getting old. I have just been doing a TERRIBLE job at taking care of my memory. Enough is enough! I started today taking care of my brain again and after 1 day complete in the books I feel a little better. I will keep you posted on my progress and I encourage you to protect your brain as well!

National Geographic Brain Games! Ron White Memory Guy

The next time I am on the National Geographic Channel I think I will get a good nights sleep I look WORN out! HA! I will also wear a bit nicer shirt, but hey…I have never been accused of being a fashion king :)

Regardless, here is a preview of the Nat Geo Channel show Brain Games! set to air October 9th. In this segment I was taken to Times Square and I memorized the serial numbers that people had in their pockets on money. The deal was if I could recall the serial numbers I would get to keep the money and if I couldn’t I would double it and give it back to the people.

In this clip, I talk with three fun girls as they were on a vacation to New York City.

This is going to be a fun show about several aspects of the brain and will also feature David Copperfield. I am excited about being a part of a show with a magician that I remember sitting on my parents living room floor watching walk through the Great Wall of China as a kid! Now we are part of a show together! As a kid I dressed up as the Incredible Hulk for Halloween when I was 8 and this May I spoke at a conference with the Incredible Hulk (Lou Ferrigno), looks like my life as a kid is coming to full circle as an adult. Now if I speak at a conference with the crew from the A-Team or Knight Rider this is going to be too weird :)

The good news is that anyone can improve their memory to this level and at the end of the clip I give a few tips on how to improve your memory. Memory is more about dedication that DNA. Memory is what you make it. Memory training works if you push your mind.

Be sure to tune into the Brain Games! on National Geographic Channel October 9th for the debut!
